Email is both a blessing and a curse. Email can be used to perpetuate a con artist. Everyone that has an email account has received an email asking you to fill out this simple form to claim your prize. Initially when this type of email started circulating the net it seemed very realistic and probable. Over time it became clear that this was just a bad scheme created by the availability of the internet. Legal schemes are the worst schemes because they seem so legitimate, they seem as if they are coming from an attorney. The forms seem legitimate like real life legal forms, but that is just another perk of the internet. Almost any legal form can be downloaded and edited to fit any need out there.

A favorite internet scheme involves receiving an email that looks rather official from an attorney. The email typically asks that the receiver contacts the sender immediately to discuss some important legal business. The attorney appears to be legitimate and needs some help getting his clients money into the United States. This scam requires forms to be filled out disclosing person information. Now the results can be one of two things. The information that is provided can be used to commit identity theft or there will be further instructions involving filling out legal forms and accepting checks to process through your bank. Either situation is not a good situation to be in. This scam of the greed that people have. Of course accepting money to transfer from bank to bank should raise some eyebrows, everyone should clearly understand that, but the money to be made sounds amazing so people take the risk and wind up having to hire a real attorney to get them out of trouble.

Another way folks are being taken advantage of with pseudo legal schemes is through social networking sites where the user will receive a message from someone that is listed as a friend, and the message will request that the user go to a financial company and fill out the form to send money to them. Usually there is a long back story to the need for the money, and quite a few people have fell for this one never checking to see if there friend really was in great need or not.

Before you accept any offer or fill out any legal forms do some checking. It is far better to check twice and hopefully not be taken advantage of.
