If you do choose to make a credit card payment to a merchant that you are not familiar with there are other ways to do it such as using sites like Paypal. With Paypal you can link your bank account and credit card to the site and use these to make payments online through Paypal. Paypal will then debit your account or your credit card and the merchant will never even see your information.

If you do anything online it is important to have spy ware detectors that is installed on your computer. Many sites, email, or online downloads can contain spy ware that can get on your computer. If spy ware is on your computer it can track many things that you do on your computer as well as when you use credit cards online. People can take your credit information through spy ware and you may never know it. Be sure that your spy ware is always running and that you run a thorough scan at least once a week.

One of the most important things to remember is to never give out any of your personal information to anyone online. No one needs to have your address, full name, or credit card information and if they ask for it you should beware. Never provide this information because it can be a way for your identity to be stolen.
